Ask most people about Knowsley and they'll picture the safari park — but for dog owners it's quietly one of the greenest corners of Merseyside, with proper country parks, ancient woodland and a traffic-free trail running right through it. A lovely, well-kept park on the old National Wildflower Centre site, with mature trees, open lawns and easy paths — a great all-rounder for a sociable group walk. Handy for Huyton and Roby.
The Halewood Triangle Country Park sits on the old railway land, and joins the Liverpool Loop Line — a flat, traffic-free trail perfect for a long, uninterrupted walk in any weather. Ideal for building up distance on our adventure walks. See our Halewood page.
A green country park with woodland trails, meadow and plenty of space between you and the next dog — a favourite for nervous or reactive dogs who do best with room to breathe, and for our quieter solo walks. Close to Whiston and Prescot.
Handsome old parkland with tree-lined avenues and open greens — an easy, pleasant loop that suits steady, gentle walks and older dogs. Well placed for Roby and Huyton.
A pocket of genuine woodland nature reserve — birdsong, shade and a proper sniffy explore off the beaten track. Lovely and calm when you want to get away from the busier parks.
A quieter local green with room for a run and a game of fetch — the kind of unfussy, everyday walk that keeps a dog happy midweek. Convenient for Stockbridge Village and the surrounding streets.
